About
I’m Ryan Bicker — husband, dad, and occasional overthinker. By day I run operations for a multi-campus church in the San Francisco Bay Area. That means a lot of spreadsheets, a lot of people, and a constant low hum of logistical complexity that I’ve come to genuinely enjoy.
Outside of work I’m on a bike as much as possible — road and mountain both. Cycling started as a health thing and turned into something closer to a practice. There’s a lot of road time where it’s just me, some elevation, and whatever I’ve been avoiding thinking about.
This blog is called The Long Road because that’s what most things worth doing actually are. It’s not a theme so much as an honest description. I write about the road. About leadership and the slow work of building things. About faith held with open hands. About family, recovery, and what it means to pay attention.
This site is the whole thing — not a highlight reel, not a personal brand, not a curated version of me that only shows up when it looks good. It’s where I think out loud, share what I’m learning, post photos I actually care about, and write about whatever is taking up space in my head. The categories aren’t tight. The topics aren’t consistent. That’s the point. If you’re looking for the full picture of who I am and what I’m paying attention to, you’re in the right place.
